We are roughly at the halfway point of the 2016/17 season and things are going pretty well. Our numbers are growing (especially in the lower age groups), our teams are coming together with some great positions in the various league tables and the club itself is financially stable. We’ve got players out at Conference, England and GB duties and we’ve got a couple of international tournaments coming up late spring. We’ve got loads of new starters, and imports from other clubs too. Perhaps most importantly we (mostly) see smiles around the rink so we’re figuring that people are (mostly) happy with what is going on.
That’s not to say that there’s nothing to be improved; the shop could really use more trade, the need more coaches is a constant issue and we’re desperately short of ENL game day volunteers to name but three things.
So, it’s time for us to have a get together; to take stock of where we are for this season, to make any necessary course corrections and to start the planning for next seasons adventures for the Sting juggernaut – we want to start on that early to try and avoid some of the problems from this year (shirts!).
This get together will be at 19:30 on 3rd February kindly hosted by our sponsors at the Doubletree Sheffield and everyone is invited. We know that some people will find it difficult to make this meeting, but there is no perfect time and its your club so please do make every effort to attend. It will be a short and efficient meeting, with the chance for a drink afterwards.
